Bosch was used on the K-rigs but Delta RMC150s where used on the next generation KD-rigs. There were numerous reasons why the Delta RMC150 replaced the HACD controllers.
I was involved helping the engineer setup the KD-rig. I had known the engineer, Mike Messick, for a long time. It took him only 3 days to make the system work after we sent him the basic code. The tester passed its first test with a racing team on the third day.
I wrote the basic code. It used cubic splines to simulate the un even track. Each racing team would gather track data at 4 to 6 inch intervals around the race track. Since the race tracks are 2 to 2.5 miles long this is a lot of points to store for each axis or wheel.
The RMC150 can store all of this data in memory.

The cubic splines where indexed by a virtual master. The virtual master was given speed commands in feet per second. Usually top speed was between 200-250 ft/sec. The RMC150 really doesn't care about the units. However, it would index through the cubic splines at what ever speed the engineer wanted. When problems were found the engineer could slow down the virtual master speed to very slow. The virtual master could even go backwards and replay the motion backward. Slowing down and going over the same point over and over again allowed the engineer to look at the suspension carefully.
We sold about 30 RMC150s initially. It seemed that each race team wanted one. Eventually many of the older Bosch-Rexorth K-Rigs were upgraded to Delta RMC150s.
The market is now saturated. Racing teams that quit sell their test systems to the new teams so there isn't much new business in this area. Nascar also seemed to get hit hard by the 2008-2009 recession.
