Description
We seek a high potential candidate for a project engineering lead role in a dynamic team environment. We want a self starter, able to efficiently organize time to handle concurrent assignments and meet deadlines, while paying attention to detail and accuracy. Must exhibit excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Also needs to be skilled in conveying business and technical ideas and concepts through team discussions, presentations, and in writing. Candidate must be willing and eager to learn and adopt Honeywell project engineering processes in managing work for a distributed team (both China and US).
The successful candidate will be working closely with program management to plan, execute, measure, and status mechanical components (pumps, actuators, valves) projects that are designed and sourced across organizations in both the US and China.
Skills/Qualifications:
Qualifications •Strong Knowledge of business management processes – PMP certification is a plus, Knowledge of Honeywell processes especially IPDS is a strong plus, Knowledge of SAP is a plus• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Project • Good teaming skills; experience with cross-functional and remote teams a plus. • Experience with Six Sigma design and process development tools, DOE, QFD, • Fluent communication skills in English both verbal and written
Minimum requirement: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (pump, actuator, or valve experience is a plus) |

• Communicate the project objectives and the project needs across many functions both within and external to engineering. This may require early or late calls to reach colleagues in other time zones.
• Organize the engineering team to plan new programs by decomposing the statement of work into the necessary work breakdown structure and estimating the effort. Generate an integrated schedule showing the time phasing and relationship of the estimated effort. Finally this information will be communicated to the program planning and control function to load it into our business planning system (SAP).
• Execute the project plan by directing the execution of effort, tracking performance against the plan, taking corrective action as necessary and reporting status. All projects are expected to follow Honeywell’s Integrated Product Delivery System (IPDS) process to make sure all stakeholders are engaged at throughout the life of the program to improve overall project performance.
• Follow earned value, risk management and baseline control business processes to minimize variations from the defined plan.
• Demonstrate the ability to achieve business results through teamwork, planning, and communication
Job location will be in Shanghai, Honeywell HTSC office in Zhang Jiang High-Tech Park
Short term overseas assignments in US or to another city within China may be required. |
