dragonfly, a change in load from 1 ton to 50 tons is too much for just one set of gains. The gains much be changed to match the load.
The formula for natural freqency indicates that the natural frequency will decrease by a factor of 7. This is too much.
However, I have an idea. Use pressure sensors to monitor pressure on both ends of the hydraulic cylinder. This information can be used to calculate the mass of the load. Now the hydraulic servo controller can calculate the correct controller gains for that load just before motion starts. The pressure sensors should be added to all cylinders. This way each hydraulic cylinder can compensate for the uneven load. |
