Using the ITAE to optimize a step response is not useful for hydraulic servo control.
1. Hydraulic servo controllers do not use step jumps. They use smooth ramps.
2. The system should be optimized with a load. A step jump might be dangerous.
3. The ITAE does not take into account that the controller output is limited to +/- 10 volts or +/- 20 milliamperes.
4. The coefficients will change depending on the distance of the move.
It is better to use the SSE ( sum of squared errors ) and smooth ramps.
It is best to use a hydraulic motion controller that has auto optimizing like the RMC75 and the RMC150.
