RL01 is a ** dynamic submodel of a rotary load under the action of two external torques in Nm applied to its two ports. There is provision for viscous friction, Coulomb friction and stiction. RL01 computes the rotary velocity in rev/min.
The rotary acceleration is computed as an internal variable.
Usage
Use RL01 for rotary motion of an inertia with two torques applied to it when there is friction.
RL01 differs from RL02 only in including friction.
RL01 differs from RL04 in that no angular displacement is computed at RL01 ports.

FR1R000 - rotary Coulomb friction represented by a tanh functionDescription
FR1R000 is a rotary friction torque generator. The friction force is modeled as Coulomb friction only. There is NO inertia in this submodel and this inertia may be provided by another submodel attached to FR1R000.
A signal input on port 2 supplies a value which is used to calculate the frictional torque. There are 3 options:
The signal is between 0 and 1 and is taken as a fraction to be multiplied by a user supplied maximum value.
The signal is taken to be a normal force (non-negative) in Newton to be multiplied by a user supplied coefficient of friction and the radius on which the force acts.
The signal is taken to be a friction torque in Nm directly. The value is expected to be non-negative.
Note that, if the signal input goes significantly out of range, an integer parameter determines whether the signal is limited to the extreme value or the simulation is stopped.
The Coulomb friction is modified by a ** tanh function using the velocity and a threshold velocity. The threshold velocity is the velocity at which the actual friction is about 95% of the maximum value.
Usage
The FR1R0 series can be used when there is a variable frictional torque between a rotating and a fixed part. This variation is normally due to a clamping load. Typical applications are disk and drum brakes and brake bands in automatic transmission systems.
Use FR1R000 for a Coulomb friction only between a rotating inertia and a fixed body. This is the most robust model of friction. However, it is unsuitable in situations where stiction and stick-slip motion is important. In this case use FR1R010 or FR1R020.
