Servo Motor Control
Delta Computer Systems originally made controls for different applications.In 1982 Delta Computer System started making a machine that sees, evaluates, and cuts potato fries. The machine can detect defects such as rot, skin, high sugar content and chlorophyll then cut the defects out. Delta makes the scanning, control and cutting system. What you see is the result of 35+ years of research and development.
The knives move so fast that you can not see the motion.We take videos at 1000 frames per second to study how the fry is cut.You must watch the slow-motion part of the video a few times to understand what it is happening. A machine can have as many as 96 knives and servo motors.
It is important that the defects be removed without removing too much good potato.This is where our machine beats the competition. The difference in recovery pays for itself in a few months.
